Quickstart

A project takes a minute. The backend is ready before the first prompt.

1. Create a project

  1. Open Projects and describe what you are building.
  2. Crafio creates the workspace and a publishable API key. Collections stay empty until an agent defines them.
  3. Open the project. Overview, People, Files, and Settings are already there.

2. Connect an agent

  1. Go to Connect prompt and mint a token.
  2. Paste the connect prompt into Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT, or any MCP harness. Details are on Connect an agent.
  3. The agent must add a new MCP server for this project, call health.check with { "project": "<slug>" }, and confirm the slug matches. It must not reuse another Crafio server already connected in the chat.

3. Let it write the backend

Ask the agent to define collections, add records, or wire sign-in. A new collection is live as soon as it is created, so the customer app can use it without you clicking Publish. Later edits to a collection that is already published stay in draft until you review them on the Schema page. Schema changes version like a database. Removed fields are retired, not wiped. Everything the agent writes shows up in the admin.

4. Stay in control

  • Edit records yourself. The agent and the dashboard share the same data.
  • Invite teammates on the Team page. People (customers) stay on the People page.
  • Connect Stripe, Gmail or another mail provider, or a CRM on Integrations when you need those capabilities.
  • Revoke a token anytime. Other agents keep working.
